Owner and Head Trainer

Marissa has had over 20 years of experience in the horse industry. She went to her first A-circuit hunter show at the ripe age of 12 years old and found her passion in Eventing later that year with her first heart horse, Bailey. She went to her first recognized event fall of her 12-year-old year and was hooked ever since. At 16 years old she went on to run in her first prelim. She has also ridden multiple horses through the preliminary level in eventing. Marissa has trained with some of the best 5* event riders in the world and has wonderful horsemanship. She is a talented rider, but most importantly emphasizes the horse’s needs first which makes her such a wonderful horsewoman. Marissa also believes that basics and repetition are the means for success, and each of the horses in her barn thrive because of her catered program, to fit the needs of each individual horse. She continues to further educate herself with weekly lessons and believes that being continually inspired is also the key to success.

Marissa has also owned and raced several of her own thoroughbreds. This gave her the keys to behind-the-scenes contacts, as well as further educating her love for the thoroughbreds.

Pizazz Farm is home to event horses, dressage horses, and a few reiners! She is actively involved in Eventing & Dressage and is working toward her USDF medals on her new partner “Vern”.

Marissa also has goals of breeding team and top-level event/dressage horses that are US bred. Stay tuned for our mare updates in 2024!

Assistant Barn Manager/ Trainer

Haley started riding from the time she was 7 years old. She participated in 2 separate equitation teams before going off to college, AIRC and IEA. When she went off to study at Bridgewater College, she was on the IHSA and NCEA teams.

Haley has experience through the 3ft Hunter/Eq and has successfully shown many horses in the 2’9 and 3’ft divisions. Haley is exceptional with young horses and has extensive experience riding OTTBs, her experience adds so much value to our program.

Her kind nature, bravery, and ability to adjust her riding to each individual horse. She is great with the kids in our program and less experienced riders, as she gives confidence in a kind way that simply cannot be duplicated.
